Schools Nationwide Commence August Term with Enthusiasm

Across the country, the start of the August Term brings a renewed sense of energy as students return to their classrooms after the Easter break.

Bustling with excitement, Bishop High School welcomed back its students, setting the tone for an engaging academic term. Principal Shandrina Lee-Welcome emphasized the importance of the upcoming term, especially with the annual exams and the commencement of CSEC and CAPE examinations.

Lee-Welcome remarked on the students’ early arrival and the dedication of the teachers, highlighting the brevity of the term but its crucial significance.

Students echoed their enthusiasm for the term, expressing eagerness to reconnect with peers and engage in their studies.

Troy Green emphasized the importance of education, while Aaron St. Hill reflected on the mix of excitement and nostalgia as he approaches his final term of high school.

Janaia Johnson shared her gratitude for the break and the upcoming challenges of exams, marking the culmination of her time at Bishop’s.

Minister of Education Priya Manickchand extended her best wishes to students, teachers, and parents, stressing the importance of collaboration between families and the ministry.

As Grade 6 students prepare for the NGSA in three weeks and CSEC and CAPE exams begin in a month, the focus shifts to academic preparation and support from all stakeholders.
