Kite Distribution Brightens Easter for Region Ten Children

By Tracy Liverpool

Thousands of children across Region Ten are set to enjoy a brighter Easter this year thanks to a kite distribution initiative spearheaded by local leaders in Linden.

Kites were distributed to more than three thousand children in various communities across the region as part of a government-sponsored effort led by Minister of Public Works, Juan Edghill.

The initiative aimed to spread joy and excitement among the youth ahead of the Easter celebrations.

Sancha Halley, a representative from Region Ten, emphasized the importance of kite flying in safe spaces during the festive season.

She encouraged parents and guardians to ensure the safety of their children while enjoying the Easter festivities.

The tradition of kite flying holds significant cultural and religious importance in Guyana, particularly during the Easter holiday, which commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

It is a time for families to come together and engage in wholesome activities, fostering a sense of community and celebration.

The distribution of kites not only brings joy to the faces of children but also strengthens the bonds within communities, promoting unity and togetherness during this special time of year.
