Seventh-day Adventists in Guyana are gearing up for their annual Global Youth Day, scheduled for Saturday, March 16.
This year’s theme, ‘Show up in the Cities,’ will underscore various charitable activities aimed at community engagement.
Patrena Blair, a member of Mora Street SDA in Linden, highlighted that this year’s Global Youth Day will focus on community engagement, with young Adventists leading the initiatives.
The event aims to encourage and empower communities through service and compassion.
Since its inception in 2013, Global Youth Day has evolved into an international movement, with young Adventists worldwide participating in acts of love on the third Sabbath in March each year.
The day is dedicated to community work, service, and outreach, aimed at educating and empowering young people globally.
Activities planned for Global Youth Day include mental health exercises, food hamper distribution, and dental health checkups.
These initiatives will take place at various locations, including the Bethel Seventh Day Adventist Church, where dental health kits will be provided.
In Linden, activities will commence at 10 a.m. and will be carried out at different locations throughout the day, providing opportunities for community engagement and service.
As Seventh-day Adventists prepare to celebrate Global Youth Day, they aim to make a positive impact in their communities and demonstrate their commitment to service and compassion.
