The University of Guyana Law Society recently organized its first inter-school moot competition, marking a return after a two-year hiatus as part of the faculty’s law week observances.
The inaugural competition saw sixth form students from various schools showcasing their public speaking and advocacy skills, portraying themselves as budding attorneys.
Participating schools included President’s College, St. Roses High, Queen’s College, McKenzie High, and New Amsterdam Multilateral School.
Students expressed their appreciation for the opportunity to hone their skills and gain practical experience in legal advocacy.
They emphasized the relevance of such experiences for future legal professionals.
Justice Kenneth Benjamin, Head of the Department for the Law Faculty, shared his expectations for the competition.
