Minister of Human Services and Social Security, Dr. Vindhya Persaud, has announced the return of the ‘Women’s Entrepreneurs: We lead, we innovate, we flourish together’ expo this April, with over 250 women-owned businesses expected to participate. Delicia Janneire brings us the details.

Scheduled for April 20th to 21st at the National Aquatic Centre, the ‘We Lift’ expo symbolizes the ministry’s dedication to empowering women by providing them with financial knowledge and skills to achieve independence.

This year’s two-day event aims to showcase a diverse range of businesses, including arts and crafts, food, fashion and jewelry, health and wellness, and various services.

Minister Persaud emphasized the significance of the expo, highlighting its focus on financial empowerment alongside education and technical and vocational upskilling.

Reflecting on the expo’s growth and impact, Minister Persaud noted its progressive nature, featuring both new and established women-owned businesses.

The expo also serves as a platform to promote the Ministry’s upcoming programs designed to assist women entrepreneurs.

Since its inception, the expo has witnessed remarkable growth, starting with 75 women-owned businesses and growing to over 200 businesses in the previous year.
