Guyana’s Foreign Secretary, Robert Persaud, anticipates a renewed sense of dynamism and results-oriented leadership within Caricom under the chairmanship of President Dr. Irfaan Ali.

Speaking ahead of the 46th Meeting of the Heads of Government in Georgetown, Persaud highlighted President Ali’s proactive approach.

He revealed that President Ali had requested a comprehensive list of pending decisions from the Caricom Secretariat, emphasizing the importance of implementation to drive progress and development.

Persaud underscored the significance of tackling global and regional challenges with vigor, noting that Guyana and Caricom must be assertive in executing decisions.

He emphasized President Ali’s commitment to focusing on implementation, aiming to overcome obstacles that hinder development.

In line with Guyana’s mission to contribute meaningfully to regional and global affairs, Persaud affirmed the country’s readiness to provide leadership wherever necessary.

He emphasized Guyana’s goal of offering fresh perspectives and guiding discussions on critical issues such as conflict resolution and food security.

As President Ali assumes the Caricom chairmanship, expectations are high for his leadership to usher in a new era of action-oriented governance within the regional bloc.
