Jasmine Billingy Dominates NSC Mashramani Table Tennis Championship

In a display of sheer dominance, Jasmine Billingy showcased her exceptional talent at the Annual Mashramani table tennis competition hosted by the Guyana Table Tennis Association at the National Gymnasium.

Billingy’s remarkable performance saw her clinch multiple titles across different categories.

In the women’s singles round-robin final, she emerged victorious after defeating formidable opponents Thuraia Thomas, Akira Watson, and Samara Sukhai.

Thomas secured the silver medal position with three wins.

The under-19 girls’ category witnessed Billingy’s prowess as she overcame Akira Watson in straight sets before facing a tough battle against Seona Barker, ultimately emerging victorious.

Sukhai claimed the third-place spot in the under-15 category.

Sukhai herself shone in the girls’ 13 and under division, triumphing over competitors Shakecy Damon and Rainia Belfield in the round-robin final.

In the men’s category, Jonathan Van Lange displayed his skill and determination, securing the men’s singles title after a hard-fought final against Elishaba Johnson.

Despite a competitive seven-set match-up, Van Lange emerged victorious, showcasing his resilience and talent on the court.

Other notable performances included Kristain Sahadeo’s victory in the B-class final, Colin Wong’s triumph in the under-19 boys’ category, and Malachi Moore’s impressive win in the under-15 boys’ division.

Additionally, Kayden Meusa and Jody-Ann Blake emerged victorious in their respective categories, adding to the excitement and intensity of the competition.

The Mashramani table tennis championship was a testament to the skill, dedication, and passion of the players, providing an exhilarating showcase of talent for spectators and enthusiasts alike.
