Sky High Aviation Services is set to launch three weekly flights from the Dominican Republic to Guyana, commencing on February 18th, according to Egbert Field, the Director General of the Guyana Civil Aviation Authority.
The new service by Sky High Aviation promises convenient and affordable travel options, bridging the gap between the Dominican Republic and Guyana through the Cheddi Jagan International Airport.
With flights catering to both leisure and business travelers, this initiative is poised to enhance connectivity between the two nations.
Director General Egbert Field emphasizes the significance of this expansion for Guyana’s growing economy, particularly in bolstering the tourism sector.
He notes that increased aviation services will attract more tourists to Guyana, contributing to the development of the country’s tourism industry and raising its profile on the global stage.
The Sky High Embraer aircraft, capable of accommodating over 100 passengers, including 9 in Business Class and 88 in Economy Class, signifies a significant enhancement in air travel capacity between the two countries.
Field underscores the government’s commitment to expanding the aviation industry in Guyana, citing the numerous air services agreements in place with over 50 countries.
These agreements serve as the legal framework for facilitating air travel operations, signaling Guyana’s readiness to engage with international partners in the aviation sector.
Field concludes by expressing Guyana’s openness to potential air services operators, affirming that once all requirements are met, the country is primed for business in the aviation sector.
This initiative by Sky High Aviation marks a pivotal step towards enhancing connectivity and fostering economic growth between the Dominican Republic and Guyana.
