The Office of the Prime Minister conducted an outreach in villages along the Soesdyke/Linden Highway as part of ongoing efforts to engage with residents, listen to their concerns, and discuss potential solutions.
Minister within the Office of the Prime Minister with responsibility for Public Affairs, Kwame McCoy, assured residents that the government is actively working to improve the quality of life for people across the country, including those along the highway.
During the outreach, Minister McCoy engaged with residents of Moblissa, Loo Creek, and Tigerbone Banakari, addressing concerns such as inadequate water supply, the need for farming inputs, lack of transportation for school children, and land regularization.
He pledged the government’s assistance in resolving these issues, including engaging the housing and water ministry to address land and water matters.
Minister McCoy committed to procuring black tanks for some residents and mentioned plans to employ a driver in one of the villages to transport school children.
Additionally, he promised to discuss residents’ agricultural needs with the Minister of Agriculture, Zulfikar Mustapha.
Minister McCoy encouraged residents to explore opportunities available through the Board of Industrial Training and the Guyana Online Academy of Learning.
The outreach also provided an opportunity for residents to learn about government initiatives, projects, and benefits outlined in the 2024 national budget.
Minister McCoy emphasized transparency in the government’s plans and encouraged residents to participate in skill training programs.
