The Guyana Tourism Authority (GTA) organized the second round of the Tourism Business Clinic, streamlining the processing of documentation and licenses for tourism businesses.
This initiative aims to simplify and expedite the certification and licensing procedures for tourism operators.
In the past, businesses had to navigate multiple agencies individually to obtain certifications and licenses.
However, with the strategic approach of the Tourism Business Clinic, operators could access services from various entities, including the Central Housing and Planning Authority, the Environmental Protection Agency, Guyana Fire Service, the Lands and Survey Commission, and the National Insurance Scheme, among others.
Tourism operators who participated in the clinic shared positive feedback about the initiative, highlighting the efficiency and convenience it brought to their businesses.
Kamrul Baksh, Director of the GTA, expressed that the tourism clinic has proven to be an effective tool, and subsequent clinics are planned for outlying areas, including Regions 2, 9, and 10, in the coming weeks.
