Education Minister Manickchand Highlights School Reopening and NGSA Mock Exams

Education Minister Priya Manickchand commenced the Easter Term with a visit to Providence Primary School, emphasizing the importance of constant evaluation during the reopening of each school term.

While acknowledging that not all schools achieved a smooth reopening, Minister Manickchand affirmed that the majority of schools were operational.

She emphasized the need for more comprehensive monitoring and evaluation during the first quarter to assess both the learning levels and the effectiveness of teaching methods.

Addressing the upcoming National Grade Six Assessment (NGSA) scheduled for May 2nd and 3rd, Minister Manickchand announced the initiation of mock exams at the end of the week.

These mock exams, based on grade 5 work and the first five weeks of grade six, aim to prepare students for the upcoming NGSA.

Additionally, Minister Manickchand noted that the school feeding program for primary-aged students is still in effect, ensuring that students receive breakfast in their respective classes.
