Guyana Welcomes British Trade Mission for Investment Opportunities

Finance Minister Dr. Ashni Singh has extended a warm welcome to a British trade mission, emphasizing that Guyana is open for business and presents ripe investment opportunities.

The trade mission, organized by the Caribbean Council, marks the third delegation of companies from the United Kingdom seeking investment prospects in Guyana.

Minister Singh expressed that the international interest in Guyana is not surprising, given the recognition of opportunities in the country’s rapidly growing economy.

He reiterated Guyana’s commitment to welcoming companies from around the world to invest and conduct business in collaboration with local enterprises.

During the engagement at the Marriott Hotel, Dr. Singh highlighted the success of past trade missions, with numerous British companies already involved in business ventures in Guyana.

He outlined recent economic developments and prospects, shedding light on sectors with promising investment potential.

British High Commissioner to Guyana, Jane Miller, affirmed the UK’s ongoing investment in Guyana across various sectors.

She mentioned that the UK is Guyana’s leading trade partner in the Caribbean, with significant trade undertaken in the past year.

Miller highlighted the diverse areas of investment interest, including construction, food and drinks, and services.

Participating companies in the trade mission include Price Forbes, Invest Northern Ireland, Sangfroid Group, Enviro Technology Services, Colibri, Contracta, Dints International, and Innovo.

The delegation is set to engage with both government agencies and the private sector to explore potential collaborations and investment opportunities.

This visit underscores the continued interest and collaboration between Guyana and the United Kingdom, fostering economic ties and contributing to the growth and development of both nations.
