Foreign Secretary Robert Persaud has categorically stated that there are no immediate plans to close any border crossings, aiming to alleviate concerns circulating among the public.
Persaud emphasized that daily life should proceed without disruption, assuring that there are no intentions to impede routine activities along the borders.
In an interview with the state television station, the Foreign Secretary urged citizens to remain united, focused, and to rely only on official news sources.
He further mentioned that the Head of State and his cabinet have been meeting with stakeholders and the citizenry to ensure stability in Guyana and that livelihoods remain normal.
