MC’s Educational Institute, a private learning institution, is celebrating its performance in the Caribbean Secondary Examinations (CSEC) and is committed to further enhancements.
The school’s administrator, Marcia Craig, spoke about their achievements and aspirations.
Over the years, MC’s Educational Institute has demonstrated significant progress in CSEC, consistently surpassing the 50 percent pass rate.
Craig mentioned that the school, established officially in February 2009, achieved a 92.1 percent pass rate in grades 1 to 4 and a 67.1 percent pass rate in grades 1 to 3 in the recent CSEC examinations.
While this represents a slight decrease from the previous year’s results (93.2 percent passes, grades 1 to 4, and 71.8 percent passes, grades 1 to 3), the school remains committed to improvement.
The administrator highlighted the school’s excellence in English Language, achieving a 100 percent pass rate in grades 1 to 4 in both 2022 and 2023, even though there were more grade ones in 2022.
MC’s Educational Institute offers nine CSEC subjects, including Agriculture Science, Human and Social Biology, Office Administration, Integrated Science, Principles of Business, English A, Mathematics, Principles of Accounts, and Social Studies.
The school plans to introduce more subjects in the future.
Craig emphasized that the teaching staff, most of whom are enrolled at the Cyril Potter College of Education, are continuously working to enhance their capabilities.
Additionally, the school is developing a reading program to support students who may face challenges in reading, aiming to improve their overall performance across subjects.
