Construction Commences on Two State-of-the-Art Regional Hospitals in Region 6

Construction has officially commenced on two new regional hospitals in Region 6, as announced by Regional Chairman David Armogan.

The construction of one of the modern regional hospitals is taking place at Number 75 Village on the Corentyne.

The foundation work is nearing completion, while land clearing for the second hospital is underway in New Amsterdam, close to the New Amsterdam Psychiatric Hospital.

Region Six Chairman, David Armogan, shared details about the new Regional Hospital in New Amsterdam, describing it as a three-story facility aligned with first-world standards.

The initiative aims to provide citizens with access to modernized health services locally, eliminating the need for overseas healthcare or travel to Georgetown.

In addition to the construction of the new hospital, plans include relocating the current Psychiatric Hospital in New Amsterdam. Instead of building a new psychiatric hospital, Armogan mentioned plans for separate wings at hospitals across the region to accommodate psychiatric patients.

The initiative signifies a significant step towards providing advanced healthcare services within the region and reducing the dependence on healthcare facilities outside of Region 6.
