Meanwhile, Aliyah Abrams faced challenging conditions and narrowly missed a podium finish in the women’s 400-meter final.
In the women’s 400-meter final, Abrams exhibited a strong performance, crossing the line in 52.66 seconds.
Despite a promising start, the wet track, combined with rain and cold conditions, posed difficulties for Abrams, especially down the homestretch.
She finished in fifth place, with Martina Weil of Chile claiming the top spot, followed by Nicole Caicedo of Ecuador in second, and Evelis Aguilar of Colombia in third.
Turning to the men’s 200 meters, Archibald demonstrated his prowess, clinching a spot in the final with a time of 21.08 seconds.
Although he finished third in his semi-final, his impressive performance earned him one of the fastest non-automatic qualification spots.
In the final stretch, Archibald faced stiff competition from St. Kitts athlete Nadale Buntin, who secured third place with a time of 20.97 seconds.
The gold medal in the 100m event was claimed by Jose Gonzalez of the Dominican Republic, who finished the 200m race in 20.81 seconds.
