In a fiercely contested women’s 100m event, Jasmine Abrams displayed exceptional prowess, securing a well-deserved silver medal.
Although slightly off her personal best, Abrams crossed the finish line in 11.52 seconds, showcasing her exceptional sprinting ability.
The gold went to Cuba’s Yunis-leidy Garcia, who clocked in at 11.36 seconds, with Trinidad and Tobago’s Michelle Lee-Ahye securing a close third in 11.53 seconds.

Meanwhile, the men’s 100-meter race proved to be a nail-biter, with a mere hundredth of a second separating the top finishers.

Archibald, who had previously secured CAC gold, faced tough competition from Dominican Republic’s Jose Gonzalez, who secured first place with a time of 10.30 seconds.
Brazil’s Felipe Bardi finished alongside Archibald with an identical time of 10.31 seconds.
Acknowledging the tense moments following two false starts in the race, Archibald remained optimistic about his performance and looked forward to upcoming competitions.
It’s noteworthy that Archibald opted out of the long jump event in these games.
