St Pius and Redeemer Primed for Courts Optical Pee Wee Football Final

St. Pius and Redeemer Primary Schools secured their spots in the final of the Courts Optical Pee Wee Football tournament at the Ministry of Education ground with thrilling semifinal victories.

Former champions St Pius faced off against West Ruimveldt in a heated contest, with neither team yielding in regulation time.

In extra-time, St Pius’s leading goal scorer, Aaron Vasconcellos, clinched the victory with a penalty in the 50th minute of play.

In the opening semifinal, Redeemer and Potaro engaged in a nail-biting battle.

Adiel Hamilton gave Redeemer an early lead, but Potaro responded with two quick goals.

Shivraj Persaud’s efforts helped Redeemer level the score at 2-2. Hamilton returned to give Redeemer the lead once again.

In the dying minutes of regulation time, Persaud secured the winning goal, giving Redeemer a 4-2 victory.

In the matches for placement, St. Stephens, led by a Kareem Milton hat-trick, defeated the 2022 champion, Enterprise, with a score of 3-2.

Enterprise’s Dontay Kowlessar contributed with a double.

Den Amstel secured a 2-0 victory over Marian Academy, with goals from Trevon Lewis and Christian Mendonca in the 8th and 22nd minutes of play.
