Finance Minister, Dr. Ashni Singh, underscored the plethora of investment opportunities available across various sectors of the Guyanese economy during his address at the Investment & Capital Markets Conference.
Encouraged by the Local Content Act, which promotes investments in domestic enterprises beyond the oil and gas sector, Minister Singh emphasized the government’s commitment to funding the growth of non-oil sectors.
This includes substantial investments in infrastructure, aimed at enhancing connectivity with neighboring nations and bolstering industries such as Energy, Agriculture, and Tourism.
Minister Singh expressed confidence that these initiatives will lead to increased competitiveness and sustainability in these sectors.
Speaking at the Jamaica Stock Exchange Investments and Capital Markets Conference, held for the first time outside of Jamaica, Dr. Singh extended his warm welcome to the participants.
He acknowledged the significance of Guyana being chosen as the host for the 2023 conference, highlighting the strengthened bonds of friendship and commerce between Guyana and Jamaica.
