Ansa Building Solutions (ABS), a subsidiary of the Ansa McAl Group of Companies, marked its official entry into the infrastructure sector with a grand launch at the Marriott Hotel. Over the past three years, the company has invested a substantial sum of US $12.5 million to establish itself as a key player in Guyana’s infrastructure development.

Anthony N Sabga III, Chief Executive Officer of Ansa McAl’s Group, highlighted ABS’s pivotal role in supplying essential construction materials like paint, clay, and concrete blocks tailored for the local climate. The company has already introduced two paint shops offering a range of high-quality products designed to withstand the region’s weather conditions.

Public Works Minister, Juan Edghill, lauded ABS’s strategic move into this new business direction. He commended the collaboration between the government and the private sector, recognizing it as a vital approach to alleviate pressures on the sector.

Minister Edghill encouraged more private sector enterprises to diversify into various sectors, emphasizing that Guyana is in the midst of significant transformation.

He stressed the PPP/C Administration’s recognition of the private sector as a crucial development partner and welcomed ABS as a valuable addition. Minister Edghill urged more companies to join in the nation’s progress.

Christian Llanos, Head of Construction at Ansa McAl, revealed plans for the establishment of a concrete block manufacturing facility in Wales, West Bank Demerara. The company aims to invest approximately US $250,000 in training technical staff to operate these factories, ensuring top-notch quality.

Furthermore, ABS is in the process of developing a trades-based curriculum to maintain high training standards for contractors and other participants. The company also has intentions to extend small-scale financial support through instant credit to local contractors.

With these strategic initiatives, Ansa Building Solutions emerges as a pivotal player in Guyana’s infrastructure landscape, poised to contribute significantly to the nation’s ongoing development.
