Linden Welcomes Students Back for a New School Year

Today marked the beginning of the new academic year, and Linden, Region Ten, was abuzz with the return of scores of students from various communities in the region. For some, it was their inaugural entry into the education system, while others eagerly resumed their studies.

Educators and support staff also expressed their enthusiasm for returning to the classroom after an extended break.

Floyd Martindale, a parent, shared his excitement with NCN News, stating, “I feel excited and I support them also.”

Ingosi Harry, beaming with pride, escorted her daughter Brianka on her first day. Brianka secured a spot at McKenzie High School, Linden’s esteemed secondary institution. Ingosi shared her daughter’s optimism, saying, “I’m very much excited, she’s going to do good.”

Brianka herself admitted to feeling “a bit nervous but excited” about the new school term.

Meanwhile, vendors providing snacks for schoolchildren were equally elated to welcome back familiar faces and greet new ones. Donna Hamblin, one of Regma Primary’s snack vendors, expressed her delight, saying, “I am pretty happy, happy coming out back here.”

As schools reopened, traffic in Linden, particularly at the Mckenzie-Wismar bridge, experienced a significant surge. Division 10 traffic officers, supported by Community Policing Groups, worked diligently to manage traffic flow and maintain order, ensuring the safety of students, parents, and teachers across the region.
