In a move to expand services and improve accessibility, the Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) is preparing to inaugurate its new Tax Office in Onverwagt, West Coast Berbice. This development comes with promising job opportunities for qualified individuals in the region.
According to Fabian Clowes, Communications Officer at GRA, the forthcoming tax office will offer the complete array of services available at the GRA’s headquarters on Camp Street, Georgetown. This encompasses services related to compliance, tax refunds, licenses, motor vehicle registration, and tax return collections.
The establishment of this regional tax office is poised to significantly reduce transaction costs and processing times for both individuals and businesses.
Mr. Clowes explained, “The new office also bridges the gap between the tax office and the ease of access.” Additionally, he noted that this enhanced accessibility is expected to translate into improved services due to the substantial demand for GRA services in the region.
This strategic move by the Guyana Revenue Authority, which commenced with the opening of bids in June 2021, underscores its dedication to delivering services with greater efficiency and accessibility to taxpayers.
