Contracts totalling eighty million dollars were signed on Monday for the construction of two training facilities in Region Six. The selected locations for these facilities are New Amsterdam and Corriverton.
NK Enterprise Inc. has been awarded the contract for the construction of the training facility in New Amsterdam, with an estimated cost of 44 million dollars.
During the signing ceremony, Labour Minister Joseph Hamilton emphasized the importance of adhering to regional and international standards in constructing these facilities, given their purpose as training centers.
On the other hand, the training facility in Corriverton, estimated to cost approximately 39 million dollars, will be built by Perba Trading.
Both training centers will be constructed on lands provided by the two municipalities to the Board of Industrial Training.
In addition to these projects, the ministry has plans to rehabilitate several other similar facilities. Among them are the centers in Bartica, region 2, and two centers in region 9. These initiatives aim to enhance the availability and quality of training opportunities across the country.
