The highly anticipated 7th annual MVP Sports Under-11 girls’ football tournament is scheduled to commence on November 18 at the Ministry of Education Ground, promising four weeks of thrilling football action.

Organizers are enthusiastic about the upcoming tournament, anticipating a high standard of play throughout the competition.

During the launch event, Troy Mendonca, co-director of the Petra Organisation, expressed the young footballers’ eagerness to showcase their skills, aiming to match the level of play demonstrated by boys in the recently concluded Courts Optical tournament.

Mendonca announced that at least 20 teams are expected to participate in the tournament, representing schools from regions 3, 4, 6, 7, 10, and Georgetown.

The teams will be divided into five groups, each comprising four teams for the initial stage of the competition.

Mendonca extended gratitude to tournament sponsors MVP for their valuable support.

Ian Ramdeo, Chief Executive Officer of MVP Sports, commended the Petra Organisation for its ongoing efforts to promote football development at the grassroots level.

He emphasized the importance of fostering football talent at a young age.

Financial incentives await the winners of the Female Under-11 Schools Football tournament, with the first-place team receiving $150,000, the second-place team earning $100,000, and the third-place team awarded $75,000.

These funds will contribute to a school project of their choice.

The tournament is expected to not only showcase the budding talent of young female footballers but also contribute to the overall development of football at the grassroots level.
