More than 600 residents from Region 5 (West Coast Berbice) have received house lots through the Ministry of Housing and Water’s “Dream Realized” initiative, contributing to the government’s goal of distributing 50,000 house lots by 2025.

These new allocations add to the 2,000 lots already distributed in the region and over 38,000 nationwide.

The house lots are located in Plantation Block ‘A’ Bath and Plantation ‘B’ Experiment, West Coast Berbice.

The beneficiaries include many young people, which signals the government’s continued commitment to improving the livelihoods of its citizens through land ownership.

Several of the new recipients expressed their excitement and gratitude at receiving their own land.

Tricshana Charles, one of the beneficiaries, shared, “I feel very good about it. It feels very good.”

Christine Lall also expressed her optimism, saying, “It is a step towards my future.”

Jerrial Alert, another recipient, mentioned, “When I received the land, I felt great about it.”

The new house lot recipients are excited to begin the next chapter of their lives as homeowners.

Minister of Housing and Water, Collin Croal, stated that the Ministry is actively sourcing additional lands to meet the growing regional housing demands.

“We are working to ensure that as many people as possible are catered to,” he said.

Over $8 billion has been invested in developing housing areas such as Burma, Experiment, Shieldstown, and Blairmont to meet the demand for land across the region.
