The Central Housing and Planning Authority (CHPA) today allocated 500 house lots to families in the New Wales Housing Development as part of the government’s initiative to distribute 50,000 house lots in five years.

The “Dream Realised” event took place at the Housing Ministry’s regional office in Pouderoyen.

Minister of Housing and Water, Collin Croal, highlighted the significant progress in Region 3’s housing sector and reiterated the government’s commitment to improving home ownership.

He emphasized that today’s allocation is part of a broader plan to make 1,000 house lots available to residents, aligning with the administration’s macro vision for housing development.

The New Wales Housing Development is also set to benefit from a $6 billion infrastructure development plan aimed at creating modern, sustainable living spaces.

Minister within the Ministry of Housing and Water, Susan Rodrigues, spoke on the empowerment land ownership brings, noting how titles can enable families to build homes, invest, and leave a lasting legacy for future generations.

She emphasized that the initiative targets families from diverse income groups, ensuring inclusive access to affordable housing.

This allocation event marked another important step in the government’s ongoing efforts to enhance housing opportunities and improve infrastructure for Guyanese families across the country.
