The tragic death of 29-year-old Deonarine Bisram of Rose Hall Town, Corentyne, on Sunday evening has left the community in shock.
According to reports from NCN News, Bisram was walking along the side of the road in Port Mourant when a pickup truck lost control and collided with him.
The impact flung him several feet, resulting in injuries to his body.
Bisram’s sister-in-law, Nandranie Baichan, expressed her grief and shock over the incident.
She described how she arrived at the scene to find Bisram’s lifeless body with severe injuries, including a broken neck, foot, and head wounds.
Baichan pleaded for justice for her brother-in-law, emphasizing that he was a good person.
She urged authorities to ensure that those responsible for the accident face consequences for their actions.
Reports indicate that after hitting Bisram, the vehicle collided with a bus shed before stopping in a nearby drain.
The driver reportedly fled the scene, leaving Bisram unconscious.
He was later pronounced dead upon arrival at the Port Mourant Public Hospital.
The police have launched an investigation into the incident, with the owner of the vehicle currently in custody to assist with inquiries.
