Residents of Victoria, located on the East Coast of Demerara, will soon benefit from enhanced accessibility with the reconstruction of 18 internal roads.

The roadworks, currently underway, are part of a broader initiative to improve infrastructure and ease transportation challenges in the area.

Public Works Minister, Juan Edghill, visited the community over the weekend to inspect the progress and engage with residents.

He noted that key gathering points such as places of worship, the police station, and the community center have already seen upgrades, and the current focus is on filling the remaining gaps in the road network.

A total of 18 road lots are being constructed simultaneously by various contractors, with an emphasis on timely completion.

Minister Edghill assured residents that the Ministry of Public Works is fully aware of the specific roads needing attention and has mapped out a detailed plan for addressing them in the coming months.

The completion of these road projects is expected to greatly improve accessibility for residents and alleviate traffic congestion within and around the community.

Minister Edghill was accompanied by Minister of Health, Dr. Frank Anthony, during the inspection of major projects along the East Coast of Demerara.
