10th Annual Milo U18 Secondary School Football Tournament Set to Begin

Ahead of the 10th annual Milo U18 Secondary School Tournament, student athletes are encouraged to view sports as a pathway to potential careers.

Action is slated to commence on Saturday, March 23, with matches scheduled at both the Ministry of Education and Queen’s College grounds.

Organizers of the tournament convened with coaches and students on Tuesday to outline the event’s specifics.

Troy Mendonca, organizer and co-director of the Petra organization, expressed gratitude for the continuous support ensuring that young footballers have the opportunity to develop their skills.

Education Officer Joel Gonsalves from the Allied Arts Unit emphasized the benefits of football within the academic system.

He urged students to seize the opportunity presented by the tournament, highlighting the numerous avenues it opens up for them.

A total of 25 school teams are poised to compete for the championship trophy and a cash prize of $300,000, which will be allocated for a school project of the winning team’s choice.
