The Government has announced that the $100,000 cash grant for all eligible beneficiaries in Guyana under Budget 2026 will be paid through banks, in a move aimed at reducing long lines and making the process more convenient for beneficiaries.
Finance Minister Dr. Ashni Singh told NCN News that the first group to receive payments will be public servants, with the rollout expected to begin next week.
To support the new payment system, the Government will also launch an online portal allowing Guyanese to register for a bank account, ensuring that citizens who do not currently have accounts can access their grants.
The change is intended to remove barriers, speed up payments and make distribution smoother nationwide.
More details on the rollout are expected soon.
