The distribution of the $100,000 one-off cash grant has reached Region One, Barima-Waini, with Minister of Housing and Water, Collin Croal, overseeing the process.

The distribution is taking place in the Matarkai Sub-District and Mabaruma, just in time for the holiday season.

Residents expressed their gratitude, with many highlighting the impact the grant will have on their lives.

One beneficiary, Michael Phillips, shared that the funds would help him with medical checkups as he ages.

Others, like Lizz Marshall and Maureen Bennett, also voiced their appreciation, with some planning to use the money to support their families and personal needs.

Minister Croal urged residents to spend their grants wisely, suggesting they consider pooling resources to invest in business ventures or other economic activities for long-term benefits.

The cash grant distribution, which began in Region Nine, has now moved to Region One, with Region Four expected to follow.

The exercise will continue across the country’s ten administrative regions for the next several months.
