Guyanese youths participate on youth ethnic day

Several students joined in celebrating youth ethnic day yesterday. When NCN visited the Carifesta sports complex, youths were engaged in learning various dance moves and singing national songs among other activites.
Social worker within the ministry, Glena Toney stated that the event is aimed at providing an opportunity for young people to showcase their talents in a meaningful way.
Ms. Toney added that during the day youths are expected to interact with each other about their culture and its importance to society.
This is the third year the ministry has hosted the event which is carried out in various regions.
Among the schools involved in the celebrations are Guyana education Trust college, royal academy, Razac education and Monar education.
