Commissioner of police Henry Greene is likely to be slapped with a rape charge.
Reliable sources told NCN on Saturday that the director of public prosecution chambers has recommended that Greene be charged for rape.
On Friday during a media briefing when home affairs Minister Clement Rohee was asked about an update on the investigation he said government is awaiting a result.
The DDP’s decision comes after investigative collaboration between local law enforcement officials and the Jamaica constabulary force. In early December a woman alledged that she was raped by the commissioner after she went to him seeking help.
According to reports the act is believed to have been committed in November at a popular city hotel.
After the allegation broke the commissioner was sent on leave in mid-December to facilitate investigations, since then assistant commissioner Leroy Brummel has been acting in that capacity.
